What Is Your Body Saying To You

Every sensation that we feel be it painful or pleasurable, is our body communicating with us. There are 5 main areas that our body speaks very loudly to us on a daily, or regular basis, but

because we do not understand that this is actually a form of communication, and we do not calm and clear our minds to hear the conversation, we are unable to hear and understand the language of our bodies, therefore cannot heed the call.

Fatigue– Our bodies rest, heal and grow when we are asleep. you feel tired or sleeping it is important to honor the request, this is it’s an attempt to heal and correct imbalances. It is simply saying “I need more energy to heal an ailment that you (probably) do not know you have”.

Gas & Indigestion– Aside from the fact that the average person does not eat whole grains, drink enough water, or is mobile enough, most people suffer from constipation simply because they fail to heed the natural urge to eliminate. They ignore the urge because they are too busy or lazy to do so, unfortunately, most times this generally begins in childhood. By the time we become adults we no longer recognize the subtle urge to go, if we heeded the call we would be able to establish a natural rhythm and prevent constipation and a host of other diseases that constipation causes.

Thirst– When we become thirsty our body wants one thing “water”, not juice, not soda pop, not coffee these are the beverages we choose to satisfy our thirst with but is not what our body wants or needs. Take this test: the next time you become thirsty drink a glass of water instead of what you normally would drink, and notice how that satisfies your thirst. The other aspect is by the time we realize we are thirsty the body is already in a state of dehydration, water should be consumed before we become thirsty.

Pain– Pain is how our body reveals that something is wrong, each time we neutralize it with pain killers instead of finding the cause we allow the ailment to become more and more severe, additional imbalances in our system ultimately resulting in a terminal illness.

Stiff Joints– Stiff joints are the body’s way of saying, “you do not move me enough, I’m tired, and wasting away because of immobility”.know the drill — use it or lose it!

Fevers– Fever is the body’s way of fighting infection, unless the fever becomes extremely high we should allow it to run its course. Otherwise, we shut down the natural defenses of our immune system and leave our body open to additional attacks and illness. What we should do, is help our body fight the infection by eating raw fruits and vegetables, breathing fresh air, drinking pure water, bathing to activate the skin, resting, and calming our mind.

Our health breaks down because we do not take responsibility for it, just because a product sits on a shelf in the grocery store or health food store does not mean it’s good for us, the only way to know is to be knowledgeable about what our bodies require. short, we simply do not allow our body to realign internal systems, and our mind the time to be at peace. Good health is maintained through life-giving nutrients, and not subjecting ourselves to substances that weaken our constitution, be it physical or mental.

We say we love life, we say we are thankful for life, but the way we treat ourselves is contrary to what we say. It would seem, the only valid demonstration of one’s gratitude for life would be, to take care of the very body, that life is lived in. Perhaps what we really want, is to just “look” good, the question then becomes; can you actually look good, without feeling good?

If a car dealership told you to take your brand new car home, park it, but do not turn it off, even if you own it for the next 20 years — “never turn it off”. You would look at them like they were a fool, and would probably say so. Because everyone knows that you couldn’t possibly allow an engine to run continuously for 20 years and expect it to function properly or last. Yet the average person does this with the body they have owned for 50, 60, 70 years, and longer, and if we’re told to turn their body’s engine off, through fasting and detoxification, that would be as equally nonsensical to them. Yet they want and expect their body and life to function at optimum capacity, never realizing they actually have a higher standard for their cars, than their own health and well-being.

Detoxification is about balance, giving our mind, body, and spirit time to recalibrate and regenerate. It’s about creating a neutral space in our minds, hearts, souls, and homes that will allow us to take stock of how we have served ourselves. It gives us the space to decide what we need to hold on to, let go of, or pass on. But it is, as equally about, enjoying the process and learning how to focus our attention on whatever we do, in a meditative way, because how we feel, when we do what we do, determines if we will continue to do it.
