Your Hair Does Not Like Hot Water!

Hot water should never be used on the hair because it strips it of its natural oils and nutrients. The best temperature to use on the hair and skin is cold water because it does not strip the hair and allows the cuticle to remain closed ensuring that the surface of the hair is smooth.

The basic rule concerning hot and cold temperatures is that heat always expands what it comes in contact with, and coldness always causes contraction.

When hot water is applied to the hair shaft swells, the cuticle raises and the hair is automatically prone to tangling. The exact opposite happens with cold water, the hair is soft, shiny, and manageable.
