What Is The Lymphatic System?

The lymphatic system is vital to the body’s detoxification process, it transports lymph, a clear, colorless fluid that bathes and purifies the cells of the body. It is composed of a network of porous vessels like arteries, and thousands of lymph nodes that are scattered throughout the body.

Lymph brings nutrients to the cells and carries away waste products, such as worn out blood cells. However, the lymphatic system unlike the circulatory system does not have the luxury of a pump such as the heart, to keep it moving.

For a healthy lymphatic system, external stimulation is required, such as massage, body brushing, and exercise. Without stimulation, it becomes stagnant and is unable to nourish the cells and filter toxins out of the body, resulting in swollen and sore lymph nodes, inflammation, and overall toxification.

These stagnated toxins will then become trapped in the tissues, eventually causing extreme fatigue, and a host of seemingly unrelated illnesses to manifest.

As you can see from the illustration below The Lymphatic system sits directly under the skin as a web-like network, When the skin is severed and removed through surgery, and other invasive procedures, this complex network is also severed and will adversely affect your overall health and vitality.

 Lymphatic Self Massage

The lymphatic self-massage will help assist your body in releasing stagnant toxins that cause fatigue and illness.

It is important to use very light soft stokes because the motion of this system moves like the movement of calm water.

In order to receive the benefits of the lymphatic massage

It is important to drink at least thirty-two ounces of water before and after the massage to flush out the toxins that were released. Begin with making the Lymph Stimulating Massage Oil below.

Lymph Stimulating Massage Oil Directions

You Will Need:

  • 20 drops each of Grapefruit essential oil
  • 20 drops of Juniper essential oil
  • Add 4 ounces of virgin olive oil or expeller-pressed or unrefined almond oil.
  • Shake well.

Massage Tips

  • Always use long sweeping gentle massage strokes in the direction of the heart, to help move the lymph through the lymphatic network.
  • Use small gentle circular movements where lymph nodes are concentrated such as, behind the knees, in the groin and abdominal area, under the armpits, around the collar bone and the neck.
  • Please Note: If you do not intend to drink the recommended amount of water, do not do this massage. It is better to leave toxins dormant, then to activate them and not flush them from your body.
